In a world of religious fundamentalism, Jacob Bergson finds himself wrongfully imprisoned. The authorities accuse him of being the author of the day's most controversial and heretical book that is sparking a revolution. As he slowly befriends his anarchical cellmate, Bergson finds that all those with a mind to help him are left powerless to do so under the rule of law. Bergson's only hope seems to be Sophia, his absent wife. Darkly funny and ultimately moving, Prayer explores the fundamental nature of morality through one man's search for justice and redemption.
