Two Short Plays
The first, “Tomorrow,” is set on the grounds of a hospital with a hospice ward. A young woman – 25 years old – and an older woman – 75 years old – are both dying of cancer. The young woman has lived an adventurous life thus far, including traveling the world, but has never experienced real love. The older woman has never been outside of her home town and her adult life has consisted entirely of raising a family. Though vastly different personalities, they represent each other’s regrets and the fulfillment of each other’s dreams.
The second play, “Between Floors,” explores what happens when four radically different family members are stuck together on an elevator while on their way to view the reading of their father’s will.
Presented as part of the PlayGround Development Series, which is made possible, in part, by The Puffin Foundation.
